Stars are the quintessence of light, capable of filling us with awe when gazing up at a clear night sky. Raffaele is based on the combination of this simple idea and the use of brass, a material that has been used for lighting fixtures for hundreds of years. The result is a unique brass lampshade in the form of a three-dimensional falling star, sand-cast in one piece by highly specialized Tuscan craftsmen.

Sailor is the result of what happens when the skills and aptitude of a Florentine craftsman and the vision of two designers are put together: common rope and iron receive the dignity they deserve. The coiled iron rope of the floor lamp is handmade by twisting nine thin bars around a thicker core bar using a technique invented by the craftsman himself. The heaviness of the material is contradicted by the sinuosity of the rope apparently floating in the air, while at night its appearance changes when the light filters though the slits of the coiled rope.

Inspired by the work of Escher and marquetry, with Maurits we want to prove that a table doesn’t have to be antique to be an impressive testimony of craftsmanship. The solid Oak table top, inlaid with 222 rhombi , and the iron legs, composing a delicate inverse coronation, together form a unique contemporary piece that gives our artisans the opportunity to put their mentors’ legacy to use.

Mike was born out of a geometrical game of combining rhombi. Twelve wooden elements with rhombus-shaped tops are assembled with brass handmade wing bolts to form a stool, side table or night stand. Two, three or even more pieces, with their hexagonal top and star-shaped base, can be united to form a bench or coffee table.

Evoking old paintings and memories of Saturday afternoons at grandma’s home, this is a modern and much more practical version of the old Dutch custom of using an oriental rug as table covering. A painted metal frame holds a true oriental rug covered with clear resin, offering both the look of soft woven craftsmanship and the practicality of a hard and cleanable surface.

Not satisfied of just being able to hold ten candles, Cornelius has a second purpose as a pentalpha game. Using ten marbles in white glass or Cypress wood, one can play an intriguing game. Cornelius even takes it two steps further also serving as a table centerpiece and diffusing a luscious Cypress scent.

Inspired by childrens’ educational toys, two basic shapes in primary and secondary colors, combined become a complex shape with a dazzling color effect: looking through both shapes a tertiary color appears.

Odette elegantly shows that a wooden chair can recall the coziness of our grandparents’ wingback armchairs. At first sight she seems to belong to the vast array of bentwood chairs, but a closer look reveals her true nature: the more pronounced curves are formed by 28 hand assembled pieces of solid oak wood. Enjoy her company at the dining table or, adorned in Italian leather, in the living room.

In ancient Rome and Greece figures of divinities were sculpted in marble and so is this modern-day coffee table inspired by bodily curves. Carved from a solid block of marble, the voluptuous silhouette and silky honed surface of the oval shape invite you to touch and use it. Here depicted in three different marbles – Pink Portugal, a limestone that can only be found in the Portuguese Alentejo area. Its shades of pink and the amount and color of its veins varies greatly, hence the extreme uniqueness of each extracted block. Black Marquina, a Spanish calcite stone of such an intense black color that it resembles a dark night sky occasionally illuminated by the alternation of bright white veins and fossils. Vert d’Estours, a material known and appreciated since the nineteenth century, when it was used in the palace of Versailles. This very compact crystalline limestone with thin green veins on an ivory background is extracted from the only existing quarry, located in the south of France.

The Odette club chair is a modern take on the cozy wingback armchair that defies all categorizations, being also describable as a Bergère, as well as a barrel chair, thanks to its wooden frame and curved back. Upholstered with brushed Casentino wool, a Tuscan signature fabric for gentlemen’s overcoats invented in the 14th Century, known for its special coarse and curly texture.

The Piero mirror is an ode to Art Deco and the beauty of cast aluminum. Double-face and dual-use: each side can be used as a pier mirror against a wall, as well as a freestanding, full-length mirror. Its cast aluminum frame with its lively texture, appears at the same time in contrast and akin with the mirror’s surface.

The cast metal legs, with their stepped profiles and diagonal position, appear differently from each viewing angle: sometimes slender, then massive, but also polished and at other times rough. Here depicted in three different versions: white Carrara top with brass legs, Rosa Tea top with bronze legs and Emperador Grey top with aluminum legs.

The pattern varies from tree to tree, hence its uniqueness. Bird’s eye maple is particularly suited for dyeing, which brings out the texture beautifully, turning the veneer into an iridescent and luminescent surface, like silk or velvet.

Itzel is a name of Mayan origin that means “rainbow”. A rainbow was the inspiration for three two-piece sets of cast glass coffee tables in green&blue, blue&purple and transparent&etched cast glass. Each set consists of two pieces, with one table overlapping the other. The colored sets have one table in a primary color and the other in a secondary color, with the overlapping part revealing a tertiary color. There’s also a neutral set in transparent and etched glass. Each of these tables is cast in one single, spectacular, piece.
